Providing internal sales for event recruitment with Prosales Training & Recruitment, and Connect TCM

In 2019 we used ProSales to work on our series of events, which includes Sign & Digital UK, Utility Week Live & Net Zero Live.


We felt that we wanted to have an internal telemarketing resource rather than fully outsource. ProSales Training and Recruitment provided us with some temporary resources, trained them for us and provided the technology platform to monitor the activity levels and campaign performance.


There were periods where we had to outsource some of the work as the temps let us down so ProSales Telemarketing came to the rescue and picked up the slack very quickly.

Overall, we found that the experience of having to manage internal resources was much more complex than outsourcing.  The external agents also had much higher productivity levels and ultimately achieved a better conversion rate at the event.


We decided in 2020 to outsource all of the event telemarketing to ProSales.

We all know email campaigns are struggling, and that GDPR blocks spending your way to a result. Russell at ProSales has a solution, the kind of thing Cambridge Analytica would have developed if they had had white wings rather than horns and tail. Bit of science, bit of building on existing networks, bit of telemarketing, with ProSales filling lots of gaps and managing it all to make it effective. It got us out a hole. One additional benefit is that you can actually watch its progress, whereas a lot of campaigns are difficult to monitor until late in the day. Prosales Group ran a cross channel campaign for CPHI 365 Digital Bundle which was a combination of data build, LinkedIn and telephone follow-up. 

This also ran alongside an email campaign to generate engagement and clicks. The aim was to generate leads and appointments for our digital marketing services.


We built on data which were previous exhibitors of CPHI WW & Pharmapack or digital marketing spenders who were not currently spending on digital.


We then reached out to these contacts on LinkedIn and sent invitation requests, follow-up messaging and then telemarketing calls.

The advice, implementation and account management of the campaign was excellent and we are very pleased with the results so far which has added €100k in booked & pipeline revenue.


We had a 317% increase in sales from in Q3 vs Q2. A vast majority of this revenue was delivered as part of the campaign that the ProSales team supported from end-July onwards.


We are so happy with the results that we have executed another 2 campaigns in 2022 and will be making this a key part of our marketing for 2023.

It was one of the most successful webinars we had in 2020 with over 1100 registrants

We used ProSales to help us launch our flagship report for 2020 which looked at the trends in the pharma sector for 2021 by driving our audience to a webinar.  A big objective of this project was to reach out to new data and encourage new contacts to engage with our brand.


ProSales recommended a strategy which involved a LinkedIn Managed Campaign in conjunction with the building of new data. 

 

It was one of the most successful webinars we had in 2020 with over 1100 registrants.  The new data that Prosales built and LinkedIn connections produced the highest percentage attendance rates that we had for this event with a conversion rate of 24%.  A high number also downloaded the report.


There were several secondary benefits in that we now have a new set of data for ongoing marketing, plus an increased community on LinkedIn to regularly communicate with via posts and messaging.


This was the first time that we had used ProSales with LinkedIn messaging only as previously all our campaigns involved either phone calls only or LinkedIn with phone calls.  The right combination really depends on budget and the type of project.


We were extremely happy with the process and have already booked our next campaign in for an upcoming virtual event.

FI Europe Connect was launching it’s first virtual event in November 2020 and in mid-October, we approached ProSales to help us with generating sales leads for the internal sales team.

The data was made up from previous attendees to the physical event who fitted the demographic profile of an exhibitor and our objective was to generate interest in a demo of the virtual event.

ProSales were able to find around 70% of these contacts on LinkedIn and they were sent invitations.  This bought an acceptance rate to connect of 34%.

Follow-up calling started at the same time as the LinkedIn campaign as time was short and therefore the results in this case favour the phone calls.

The campaign generated 77 demos’ in total of which 61 came from phone call alone, 13 were from LinkedIn with follow-up call and 3 via email response.

Due to the success of the first campaign, a second one was launched with less than 2 weeks to go until the event.

This time we utilised data from attendees who had expressed an interest in exhibiting in 2021 and the challenge was to try and interest them in 2020 also. 

Despite the short lead time, we had a 38% connection rate on LinkedIn and generated 35 demo requests with 63% closed over the phone and 37% via LinkedIn with subsequent phone call.

We were delighted with these results and the fact that ProSales turned this around in such a tight frame.  So much so that we are planning the same type of activity throughout 2021 as a key part of our lead generation strategy.

ProSales Group executed a LinkedIn connection campaign alongside our usual registration telemarketing campaign to help us reach a new audience of visitors and build awareness and attendance at the event.

The targeting of the data was very important as well as getting the messaging right and ProSales were able to help us to get this spot on for the audience. 


The evidence of this was in the connection rate, which did exceed 50% of the invitations sent at the mid-point of the campaign and we also had 16% of the audience who directly responded and who were delighted to have received the invite to attend London Wine Fair. Some requested to bring colleagues along too.


Not only was the quantity of the response excellent but it was the best quality audience as well with Sommeliers and wine buyers from some of the finest hotels and restaurants in the country. Including for example the Head Sommelier’s & Wine buyers for Harvey Nichols, Harrods, Sexy Fish, Nobu, Four Seasons Hotels, Ivy Collection, Gaucho and many more.

This was the first time that we had undertaken a structured LinkedIn data build and engagement campaign for our event, and it is certainly something that we wouldn’t hesitate to do again.
